The long-standing connection between Nigeria and India must
be strengthened, according to President Muhammadu Buhari, for the sake of both
nations, he said on Tuesday.
In his remarks to Vellamvelly Muraleedharan, the Indian
Minister of State for External and Parliamentary Affairs, during their meeting
at State House in Abuja, Buhari reflected on his one-year military officer
training there. called the session a worthwhile experience.
When asked about the 1973 visit, the President remarked,
"It was a really pleasant experience. I spent a year in India at that time
and I believe I was a Lt. Colonel. We visited foreign countries and interacted
with individuals from many countries. It was included in my military career's
success tale.

President Buhari emphasized that the Nigerian Defense
Academy was founded by Indians and that there is a solid link between the two
nations on many fronts, including politics, economy, and security.

Muraleedharan, who is in Nigeria for the event, referred to the country as the
"hub of our interaction with Africa" in his remarks.
He further stated that President Buhari was a "deserving
alumnus of our Defense Services College."
Muraleedharan claimed to be representing Indian Prime
Minister Narendra Modi and said that India and Nigeria had strong ties in a
variety of sectors, including commerce, defense, and education.
As the greatest democracy in the world, India informed
Nigeria that it was eager to work with it to help the country hold successful
general elections in 2023.
