In his remarks to Vellamvelly Muraleedharan, the Indian Minister of State for External and Parliamentary Affairs, during their meeting at State House in Abuja, Buhari reflected on his one-year military officer training there. called the session a worthwhile experience.

The Nigeria-India Business Council participant Muraleedharan, who is in Nigeria for the event, referred to the country as the "hub of our interaction with Africa" in his remarks.

He further stated that President Buhari was a "deserving alumnus of our Defense Services College."

Muraleedharan claimed to be representing Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that India and Nigeria had strong ties in a variety of sectors, including commerce, defense, and education.

As the greatest democracy in the world, India informed Nigeria that it was eager to work with it to help the country hold successful general elections in 2023.
